Random of year 2010

A man had a facebook account, and so did his wife. They decided to use his account as a mutual account, and posted their both names.

The mutual/couple account had become in fashion, as allot of people picked up the trend, specially in their society.

One day, his female cousins didn't find his name in their list, it turned out all his female cousins are trimmed out of his list. Two weeks before the wife walked out of their marriage, she deleted all his female cousins from the list, and he was embarrassed to say anything for over a year and all the female cousin were angry with him.

His ex-wife also deleted everyone from her list too, as she didn't want to do anything with her ex-husband's family.

---
I realized that married men gain weight as soon as they get married, some women say, the wives make sure that other women don't look at their men twice, not to be potential husbands.

---
Greed drives people to steal. The more money, the more greed, the more steal.

---
Some parents raise their sons like eggs, they turn out to be men with structure, mama's boy and not real men, can not lift a finger or do hard work and not dependable at all.

---
Honestly, some people get married for the wrong reasons. Allot of women I know got married only to start up a family, they don't care about their husbands' needs or respect them too.

---
Some people dress up Bling-bling from head to toe, but zero when it comes to personal hygiene, even the Basics ones.

---
When a person's possession get lost or stolen, he will feel depressed and miserable. When its found, he will be jumping around with happiness and joy, spreading the good news.

---
People's priorities defers.

---
Never mix virtual social life with real life.

---
Never over demand, overdo equals people hating your guts.

---
That's all for now, the last post for the year 2010.

The others

The others sitting all talks, with no actions.

The others complaining no work, but when their is one, they don't show up at all.

The others killing time, to come with the diva entrance.

The others not worth depending on, and not worth talking about.

The others work hard to see a smile from the loved ones.

The others travel and risk their lives, to with someone they care to support.

Typo mistake can cause reputation damage

While I was searching for "Omani Blog Awards" via Google, I came across this blog reference with snap of Amira Al Hussaini's article dated to year 2007.
Oman: Blog Awards a 'Scam' · Global Voices: "Nov 1, 2007 … Omani blogger Blue-Chi describes the 2007 Omani Blog Awards as a scam. He further appeals to the …" - Amira Al Hussaini. http://globalvoicesonline.org/2007/11/01/oman-blog-awards-a-scam/

I was shocked of Blue-Chi's statement, whom I known over 10 years, in few seconds I decided not to be judgmental and read the article and go through the references, it turned out Blue-Chi was talking about "Omani Web Awards" and nothing about "Omani Blog Awards".

I believe that Amira Al Hussaini had made a typo mistake, and it was never corrected or brought to anyone's attention only after three years of the post date. She already apologized and will do the necessary amendments, and I thank her for her approach and gesture.

For clarification, the Omani blogger Blue-Chi, did not refer to the Omani Blog Awards as a scam, as he was part of the award's committee. The Omani Blog Awards also was not a scam, as stated to above quote, it was one-time unofficial blog award, which organized in year 2005 by well group of Omani bloggers, while the above post refers to the 2007 Omani Web Awards.

A true parent

A true parent is the one who confronts his child, when he makes mistakes and disciplines out of love.

I love you for been my parent.

It is not our first language

While I was watching the opening of 2nd Asian Beach Games on TV, a Kuwaiti minister was giving a public speech in English, and was not perfectly pronouncing some of the words, because its not his first language, An 17 or 18 years young boy of age, started criticizing and imitating the way the minister was talking.

An 17 or 18 years young boy of age, studied in a private school, it irritated me as he thinks that he is perfect in English; he has forgotten that he is an Arab too and some of his relatives (also one of his parent) don't speak or not fluent in Arabic, the language of their religion (Islam) and mother thong; nor English, which is the international language.

I noticed some (not many, nor all, nor majority) of people who have studied in a private schools think that way, that they are fluent but they aren't. I personally know people who don't criticize nor fluent and they openly acknowledge it.

I admired the minister for giving a public speech with confidence, and not having or adopting an accent, British and American english accents are widely common, thanks to the cinemas and TVs programs.

Mark Zuckerberg equals Jesse Eisenberg!

While I was reading the headline (Mark Zuckerberg to Unveil New Profile Pages Tonight on "60 Minutes") from Mashable! Via my google reader, I imagined the face of Jesse Eisenberg, the actor who played Mark Zuckerberg's character on "The Social Network", the movie. You didn't realize both of them their last name ends with "berg".

Allot of people in Oman didn't get concept behind the movie, they all went to watch it because of it's about "Facebook".

Parents join facebook to know what their kids are up to, even if they are married and with kids. Facebook is more of an open diary.

Nowadays, it is "socially acceptable" for stalking people via social networking websites sites, such as facebook.

Wikileaks, is the new US-based "Arab Times", soon to be blocked in the Arab world, thanks to USA embassies' cables leaks, and other leaks.

For a moment

For a moment, we feel that our feelings of love and happiness gets strapped away, we feel naked, cold and lonely, while it is sunny.

We start search for someone to talk with, we are scared from the thought of resentment and guilt, it took a courage to open up, fear started to fade, open up more and courage comes along, after confronting, it made the boundaries' lines more visible after been under the pile of dust and sand for a long time. At the end, the fact that you aren't guilty at all.

It's just a moment, can make a difference, to draw a beautiful or ugly portrait (reminds me of "Family Portrait" song by PINK) my favourite song.

From nothing

I've been forgetting to pick up my relative's ticket from the airline office after changing the flight date, and it was bothering me for over 10 days, as it might be cancelled and I have to pay to issue new ticket.

I finally called the airline's call center, asked for their location and then I had the courage to ask about the reservation by explaining the true facts, the client service told me no need for me to drop by the office, he just asked for my email address and in few seconds, the flight details was dropped into my mail box.

I don't know why I was scared, I just imagined or created a problem from nothing.

Sometimes

Sometimes we are too busy and caught up with many things that we loose track of time, as a result we loose interest too.

We let our surroundings get control of our lives and we don't keep space for our selves to breath.

By the time we get to our destination, we ditch everything, keep everything pending for the next day, we hit the bed and get knocked out in deep sleep, when we get up we feel as if we didn't sleep at all.

Another day pass by, more pendings pails up and by the time we realize, its too late to clean up, as the mess has taken a big space and can't fit anywhere else.

My brain is dead

My brain is dead when it comes to knowledge since 2nd week of September, as I traveled and was too busy not reading my regular articles because not been at home most of the time and worried by smartphone's battery getting drained.

Since the long break, I missed updating my co-workers, friends and relatives with articles and quotes via BBM, email, Twitter and Facebook. Even blogging has became a hassle to me, as no topic to write about.

I am browsing my personal Twitter Time line, looking for a post that I wanted to write about:

- My post dated to 15 days ago: "An idea of a topic just popped up to write about, while watching SpiceJet airline ad." The topic was alcohol must be banned in all airlines, as alcoholic pollution at the plan's air, air hostess are getting harassed and passengers are irritated from the drunker.

- Another post dated to 15 days ago: "My blog's short url http://goo.gl/7lo5 from Google Shortener http://goo.gl", and you can access and generate a shorter url using BlackBerry.

- Finally this statement I posted 19 days ago, which amazed me: I was told: "CNN has become more lenient about Islam since Obama came to power." Did it? I disagree with the statement after Octavia Nasr been sacked from her high post job in CNN been soft towards Muslim man and talking about how humble he is, search more about her and find her on Twitter under @OctaviaNasr. I didn't comment or correct the person's statement, as I wasn't sure it was Octavia Nasr or someone else.

That's all for now.

For the love of a woman

I was watching the movie, The Ghost Writer, while i was flying back to home, Adam Lang (the character) said the  quote, which i can't recall nor find it on the internet, it's about he became politics not because he loved it, but for the love of a woman.

The quote had sticked me, of two men who truly loved their wives and been with them and beside them. The two women had cancer, one passed away and the other one is going under treatment. Both of their husbands beside them, feeding, giving their treatment and supporting them, above all, not willing to part from them to live normal life.

The two women are my late mother and my Aunt, and the two men are my late father and my Uncle. I head the story of how my late father was sitting beside my mother and caring about her from people who aren't direct family, but I saw how my Uncle taking care of my own Aunt, and my sister told my Aunt, "I wish to have a husband who is loving and caring in sickness and health, like your husband."

My Uncle has strong faith that she's get cured. The same man, had a surgery during my visit, couldn't part from his wife and asked her to spend the night in the hospital with him, as he was too scared she falls ill and not been beside her.

That's how some men can do anything for the love of a woman, to keep them selves and other alive.

Motivating quote

Dear All,

I received this motivating quote from a friend and wanted to share it (but couldn't find the actual source)

Every time we slip in worship, we may almost feel like giving up thinking, "It's too hard". But then, tell yourself that this is the whispers of Shaytaan. Allaah loves our repentance and loves it when we struggle to please Him. If we fall once, then we get right up and try, try again to worship and please Him. If we fall for the millionth time, then we get up for the millionth time and keep up the struggle!

Salam
Islam: a way of life!!

No BC Plz

To in lighting you how the english language is in danger thanks to the social networking elements such as sms, chats and microblogging (twitter) has made using short cuts such BC = Broadcasting, while Plz = Please. Not only english language is effected so is Arabic.

Back to "No BC Plz" as a friend has posted it part of her name during Ramadhan for been irritated of her BlackBerry Messenger's tone buzzing 24/7, some people in her list found it offensive as it wasn't polite from her and their reaction was some removed her from their, she should has sent a broadcast to everyone politely requesting to stop broadcasting her or giving them an option of removing her from their list for good.

After a month she posted in her status for those still broadcasting her to best removed her from their list, so I automatically removed her for good. I did broadcast her once then stopped, I felt she's too arrogant.

So if you don't want people to broadcast you, why you have the blackberry then.

Breath

In August 2010, during the holy month of Ramadhan; an article related to Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of France has been widely circulated and still going on around in different languages.

The article is about "the French style of Ramadhan" about fasting and praying. It has been said that Nicolas Sarkozy has said it in media, but the truth was a Moroccan blogger has posted it in his blog in for humor purpose and its just a hoax.

The thing that people who circulated it until it reached to BBC Arabic without an evidence of the source to the Moroccan blogger. Nicolas Sarkozy's hoax article created retaliation by Muslims around the world, specially people who using it as a tool to create more conflicts between Muslims, France and the West.

Specially after law passed not for women to wear face cover, provoking muslims not to wear head gear, and the resistance in USA for not to build Masjid near the grand zero of the twin tower.

This is not the first hoax been created and circulated;Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to step on the moon had a share of it. It was rumored that he heard The Islamic call for prayer, while he was on the moon, it turned out that the hoax started from Malaysia to move people towards Islam (no source yet).

All I want to say is, take a deep breath and verify the story and source, it won't harm you if you do so, or you might end up with a crisis.

Be less and more

"Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas."

Because curiosity kills the cat, its also sign of low esteem and insecurity, can't trust others.

Another way of love

I came across a movie called Paris juteme, which had a French and American cast members; it was about different kinds of love, two spouse, parents toward their children, etc. Its how love starts, continue and how for some ends.

Love reflects the true feeling, makes person jump and fly high, makes him do things that never done in normal situation.

Love can make the blind person see the world and vise verse.

That's another way of love telling you the life is too short lonely.

A thought

Had a long conversation about how people life, career and failure; also how people give up very fast and take short cuts in life and been short sighted.

I remember been told not to continue doing a degree in business, as I failed while I was abroad, I said "No", and I didn't give up; I also remember when I was in my final year, I was told that a degree in IT won't get me a job or no career in Oman and its waste of time, and to do ACCA, which will take four years part time, and I completed my degree, while changing my job.

When I joined my 2nd job, I was told it will take me years to move to the specialized team, and I proved them wrong, it took me less the 9 months, I move to more specialized and professional teams.

All that thought me, listen to your guts and mind, be a leader and not a follower except to God and his prophet Mohammed (A.S.W.S.)

Man of knowledge

I came across an article criticizing Barack Obama for giving wrong facts to the Muslims about the first Iftar host in the White House; also the truth behind the 3rd President of USA Thomas Jefferson with Islam and Muslims.

"The first Muslim ambassador to the United States, from Tunisia, was hosted by President Jefferson, who arranged a sunset dinner for his guest because it was Ramadan —- making it the first known iftar at the White House, more than 200 years ago." - Remarks by the 44th President of USA at Iftar Dinner on August 13, 2010.

Based on the article, Thomas Jefferson is not the first one to host the Iftar in the White House, it was the 42nd President of USA, William J. Clinton aka Bill Clinton, who continued the ritual, others followed and the rest is history. Maybe Obama's team thought that no one will verify it, but thanks to the globalization and World Wide Web, people did the background check the story and found some flows. Also that Jefferson was against Islam and Muslims, which I won't go through this in detail, as I also need to research more about it.

At that moment, I wished my late father was here, to discuss with him about it, he was a man of knowledge in politics and history, a man who was such a humble and honest and above all, a gentleman.

My sister and my self realized we do follow our father's footstep in reading and doing researches to gaining general knowledge in different fields. We both like history, national geography and traveling, we also like to learn about other religions, cultures and societies. We both love sharing with others what we learned.

All that, made my late farther a unique man and so are his daughters and we are proud of it.

Ramadhan kareem

Greetings to everyone for the holy month of Ramadhan. The month that Muslim purify their body and souls by fasting and praying to God.

Ramadhan is celebrated differently from one country to another, culture, ethnic and society.

The way I celebrated it while I was young is totally different now. Partly miss it, but I've created my own customs and glued in front of the TV to watch season X+1 of Baab Alhaarah or what ever drama is not part of it.

Enjoy the shahr alfadheel, and prayers to the souls who departed in this holy month and others too.

Businesses in UAE and BlackBerry ban

Allot of Blackberry users in business are outraged for UAE regulator's decision for banning BlackBerry's services.

It seems most business are happy what BlackBerry gives them with product and service, its more of an idle that other products and services such as iPhone and others can't provide. The business are able to connect to the business' emails and clients round the clock, others get technical alerts and updates if their system is gone down or for example no cash in ATM for banking industry.

UAE and the others who want to ban the service are insecure and don't want to expose to the world.

Now USA planning to pass a law for individuals from royal families who are having legal issues related to human rights like UAE's president half brother, won't be able to enter USA soil and their current or valid legal pass will be revoked, so allot of royal families will have to find another destination for holiday.

The big question, will European countries follow USA's step, if the law is passed?

Ignoring the fact

I am absolutely in denial for the past few months since I've known, don't blame me for that, I may once a kid, you may find it that I had no clue of what's going on, but I knew, and felt it.

I don't want to accept or remember that fact it happened and may happen again, death is part of our cycle, but knowing someone close to you is having the cancer, its not easy, I lost one and I can't loose another one.

I prefer not to open up the subject or talk or ask about it, I prefer to close the door and believe that the person is healthy, safe, and sound. Now people may understand how painful for my sibling and I, or others maybe saying, "They don't remember at all."

I avoid calling, scared to hear the bad news; 'Guilty', yes I am and I know I may one day regret it.

"Sorry about that, I'm not that strong."

Time is up for denial, I have to force my self to accept it, because I'll have to face it as soon they step in the plane and back home.

Blackberry loosing 500K of clients at once

Its a dark history of technology for UAE regulator to pull off the plug from blackberry, the most secured and encrypted service in the world because of Research In Motion (RIM) not willing to give it an access to monitor the UAE subscribers' data for safety and security of undetected threats plus all blackberry data are managed and maintained by an off-shored organization and not RIM.

UAE made a bold move, challenging RIM to surrender to its terms, now KSA issued statement to block one service known as BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).

Will other countries do the same? It's pretty disturbing for me as a BlackBerry user, as I fear if my country regulator takes this opportunity to do the same move after investing people's money. UAE telecommunication companies already got back their investment back plus high profits from first year, that's why they didn't do any fuss and don't forget they are owned by the government.

Ten Biggest Mistakes Women Make Before Marriage

I read this article and I want to share it with you:

10. Believing in '..and they lived happily ever after". Women are fed romantic ideals from the day they are born. Books and movies aimed at girls invariably promote the big wedding to the perfect man as the ideal ending. The truth is, marriage is hard work! A more realistic perspective would be that marriage is about 20% happiness, 30% contentment and 50% plain hard work! Going into marriage with a realistic attitude will prevent a lot of disappointment.

9. Believing that they can change him. Women have a tendency to gloss over qualities they don't like in a man, telling themselves 'oh, he'll change' or 'I'll work on that'. It doesn't work, because you can't force a person to change. If you do manage to bully him into changing, your relationship will suffer. Either accept and enjoy the differences between you or create an environment that encourages him to want to change for you.

8. Believing that he will always be romantic. Often women have very unrealistic expectations based on the way their partner behaved during the courtship phase. Unfortunately, most men heave a big sigh of relief once they have won you because they think 'hey, I can relax now and stop doing all that girly stuff'! That doesn't mean you have to give up on romance, just don't expect a 'grand gesture' every day.

7. Losing self. Getting into an intense relationship before they've developed a clear sense of their own identity is another common mistake young women make. Without a clear sense of self, women identify overly with their partner and find it difficult to stand up for themselves and their own needs. A woman with a strong sense of identity, however, is a more interesting and equal partner.

6. Giving up friends and interests. With the thrill of being in love, it is too easy for women to put friends and family, hobbies and sports on the backburner. This is a fundamental mistake to make because a) women depend on support networks throughout their lives and b) men just can't be everything to a woman. It is asking too much of them. It is important to maintain a happy balance in your life.

5. Rushing into marriage. It almost seems to be a race across the wedding finishing line for many young women. Marriage can last an eternity, but your single 20s only last a decade at the most! Don't rush into it. Just because you found the man you want to spend the rest of your life with, doesn't mean you have to marry him straight away. Enjoy your youth so that you will not have any regrets later.

4. Not having conversations about serious issues. Talk to your partner about where you both stand on issues that can make or break a marriage. Talk about the number of children you both want, are you intending to stay home to raise them, where your priorities lie, spending styles, dreams and goals, where you see yourself 20 years from now, parenting styles, sharing of responsibilities, etc. You need to know beforehand if his beliefs are incompatible with yours. This alone can determine how happy or conflicted your marriage is.

Also, have discussions about ground rules. Negotiations should be conducted before you sign on the dotted line. Too many of us rush into marriage and then spend the first decade negotiating the details! Sit down and nut out the details before you get married. Work out the basic rules that you both need to follow in order to have a happy marriage. It is important to be realistic, though, and to not agree to any rules that you know are unreasonable. Sex every day may work for him but it probably won't for you! Also, realize that these rules may need to be renegotiated now and then, such as when you have children.

3. Having a close relationship before sussing out the guy. Research shows that women are genetically programmed to fall in love with someone they have a close relationship with. Make sure that he is someone you have the potential to be happy with, before you do anything. Afterwards, your hormones are likely to override your commonsense. Sometimes this work because your fundamental beliefs are the same but don't let your hormones make that decision for you.

2. Settling. A lot of women start to panic if they aren't married by their mid-20s, and god forbid they reach 30 without being married! That ol' biological clock starts ticking loudly. The result is that they make excuses and rationalizations to themselves about a relationship that is already dull and past its use-by date, or which they know has serious issues. Marrying someone because you are afraid to be alone is unfair to yourself and your partner. Someone once said 'I don't want to spend a lifetime turning a bad relationship into an average one; I want to start with a good relationship and make it a great one'. Hear, hear.

And the No. 1 mistake women make is

1. Getting married because they are 'in love'. Being in love is not a good enough reason to marry. We can fall in love for many reasons - it doesn't mean the man you have fallen in love with will be a good partner. Choosing a good partner makes all the difference between having a harmonious marriage and a difficult marriage. You need to seriously question how well you two can work together for a lifetime. Do you complement each other? Does he make you feel like a better person or a lesser one?

Wasabi Sushi - Raw food make me sick.

Tche Tche - I don't do smoking zone.

Ubhar - the ambiance didn't attract me, despite the good recommendations by family and friend.

Oman's 40th Renaissance Day

Today, 23rd July 2010 Oman celebrates 40th Renaissance Day. Allot of greetings and ads been following from Oman's people and organizations.

Part of people traveled out of the country and others out of station for camping or to Salalah to enjoy the beauty of autumn, while the rest of Oman enjoys the summer's heat.

My way of celebration is planning breakfasts, lunches and dinners in cafes and restaurants with friends and family.

Enjoy it, while it last.

Dreaming is a free ticket to reality

I entered the kitchen and so three domestic workers busy preparing breakfast and lunch at the same time and having conversation in English, a common language as their are from Asia and Africa.

I greeted them and picked up my plate and filled it with the friday dish of foul, kind on beans.

Salma, the African woman started to say some words in Filipino dialog, she turned towards me, laughed and said "Don't laugh at me for speaking Filipino", I smiled and said "Its ok, like Anna is talking Swahili too."

Anna said "When we become Madams, Salma will go to Philippines and I will go to Africa." I smiled and said, "Inshaa Allah (when God will)", Anna continued "I'll be saying bring me tea, afterwards bring me food, etc" Salma interrupted her by saying "Never be rude, because God is testing you."

And Susan, an Asian said "Her dream to be actress," and she really has a bit of skill to act as innocent.

I left with a smile and wishing that their dreams comes true, like Filipino maid inherits millions from her former dead Singapore employer after 21 years of service.

One day, those who work for us may be richer then us, or their are actually richer then us with faith in God.

Fadlallah and the West

As the Muslims morning for the death of the Muslim and Shiite Cleric Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, whom I don't know much about but been hearing about his goodness and respected Muslim leader, his death affected the world.

Some expressed their condolences and some got criticized for their honestly and showing their feelings towards a fellow human based on their personal experience and others got fired from their jobs because of that.

All that happened in Western countries and follow and support Israeli government.

Beside those who are praising the late Fadlallah are not Muslims.

The action of those governments and organizations made it clear message that they are anti-Islam and anti-Muslims.

I admit I don't know much about the late Fadlallah, but proud how the non-Muslims praise him, he has left a mark of his present.

God bless his soul.

Omar Bin Laden and surrogate pregnancy

It took me a while to come up with a good catchy title includes 'Muslim' or 'Islam' and 'Surrogate', but I finally came up with 'Omar Bin Laden and surrogate pregnancy'.

I was pretty surprised when I read an article about Omar Bin Laden, the son of Osma Bin Laden, who is born as a Muslim from Muslim parents, and raised on Islamic believes and now going to have a child from his 50+ wife through surrogate pregnancy.

The process by injecting one of 35 frozen embryos of his wife to the surrogate mom, which her eggs has been fertilized by Omar two years ago in a private clinic.

The whole concept of having a surrogate pregnancy is forbidden in Islam, as the child shares blood of the surrogate mom and feeds from her the whole pregnancy period, their other religious reasons.

I don't know how Osama will react, even the Bin Ladens, will Omar life be in danger for his wanting a child of his own? God knows.

The cards

Its the moment of silence, the cards are shuffled, each player in their position, the cards are placed in front of them, covered up, no one knows what's hidden for them.

Its a mystery of its own, one player uncovered his card, his the winner, after making allot of losses because of his playing wrong cards, after been the top of his games.

Others players' cards are still uncovered, predictions vs facts, time will tell who walks away with the winning card and who won't.

Time will heal, memories will remain, people will cry and laugh, and in some day, history will repeat it self.

Time is up, pack your bag and step down, take other train for the next destination.

I wish you the best.

'The Family Mentor' project no more

I sat silently in the car, thinking of the project I was dreaming of doing over 3 years ago, which I thought it will benefit everyone in my family personally and professionally.

My dream was create future writers (and one day might become authors), with simple tasks:
1- Write about something you are interested in.
2- Add a reference: a book, magazine, article or a website.
3- Attempt writing in Arabic.

The dream was shattered with excuses, which left the journal abandoned, forgotten and shelved (in private viewing mode).

No one is willing to write, chatting and social networking takes less effort to write a decent post, which will help for future. Death to the future writers, why to write? Twitter is the future.

Yes, I am pretty much in sarcastic mood, I don't blame them from been from the 'X' generation. I wanted them to extract the 'X' factor and polish it to shine to become like the 'Freedom Writers', no one's dream can come true, only if they wanted too, their interest and passion is not writing, why force them!

Best wishes to them and for the project, also to whom adopts such project within their family, relatives and community.

"Don't kill your dream, take it somewhere else and do it". Yes, I'll look for another group to do the project, who will be interested in developing their writing skills. I admit I have lack in some skills and I am trying to improve it.

Farewell 'The Family Mentor' journal, farewell to its prospective future writers, and farewell to the reader until another post.

Scenario of modern Islamic followers

Modern Islam followers are those who kind of follow what non-Islam or more of Atheist then Muslims, doesn't want for Islam to spread and slowly people follow or adopt Atheism.

A shocking incident, which made the hair of my skin stand as if cold breezy wind passed it; it wasn't easy to grasp if that person is not truly A Muslim.

A person named Salma walked in a room filled with high sound of Music (kindly focus on that), Salma picked up the Quraan and opened it, ready to narrate. Heba politely requested Salma to move to the next room as its peaceful and no Music, Salma refused and said its ok for Heba and nada to listen to music while she is reading the holy book of Quraan. They were shocked as its against the religion, Salma said, "Its ok, like people who are praying and singing in Church."

They refused, switched off the music and woke out of the room. The didn't comply with the devil's intention.

low salaries and personal hygiene products

Allot of domestic workers salaries in Oman ranging between OMR 480 and 840 per year, depending on the nationalities given on monthly bases not hourly bases.

Most of the domestic workers work over eight hours and given only food and shelter. Clothing; medical when they are sick; personal hygiene products such as toothbrush, toothpaste and soups; even cloths are not paid by the employer. The minimum as OMR 40 per month or maximum will barely cover all the above plus sending money back home to support the family, ends up leaving nothing and no saving.

Above all, mistreating them, as a result, rebellions in form of rudeness, abusing kids, stealing and fleeing away from the sponsor.

Who to blame, the employer or employee (the domestic worker)? Who is the victim?

Beside the difference of salaries because of nationalities, they all do the same job, time and effort, the Man power will say: "The tickets and process fees varies from one country to another." I disagree on that.

Burger King Oman returned and burnt

Burger King, an American fast food franchise has come back to Oman again by opening two branches not one as before but burnt.

I don't mean the restaurant is burnt but their burgers are dry and burnt, in addition they don't give free packs of tomato source or toys for kids meal.

More to say, they got the wrong Arab nationality (I won't mention them but they aren't the locals) to manage, cook and serve, they are not up to BK standards, they are fit for KFC, Chicken Ticka and Hardeez. Asians in East nationalities fit for BK and Mac Donalds.

Yes I am comparing it to UAE branches plus the oldie BK in Oman, the locals and expatriates who were their at the era of BK in Oman will know the difference too.
People are running away from Burger King and running towards Mac Donalds, as the drive thru is always full and its 24hr open is some locations during weekends and one is round the year plus the service is pretty fast not more then. Three mins since you order, pay your bill and collect; while in BK it takes over ten mins from the time you order and collect your burnt meal.

I hope the service and quality improves as soon as possible, as the investment is going down the drain and no hope for BK to survive again, the reputation its existence in Oman market is doomed to fade for another 10 to 20 years; like the Indian politicians doomed to end as soon as they step in Oman's soil, a curse for BK too and I hope they get rid of it soon.

Control your destiny or

"Control your destiny or somebody else will. " ~ by Jack Welch

I just came across the above quote, which reminded me about my self for letting my destiny been controlled by wrong people who once I though they truly cared about me.

The pain and sorrow never gone way, but I always remind my self, "If I want to great and successful, I should work on it", and I proven my self that I can control my destiny not once or twice but many times.

God has written your destiny, you shape it the way you want it, to achieve it. Obstacles can come in your way, you can turn around and comeback or move it or bypass it. Their no easy way in or out, its just you have to put your mind in your head and say to your self "I can do it, I am a hero and successful."

My best wishes to the prospective hero and successors.

Will the Real Muslim Please Stand Up

I came across an interesting article about how Muslims dress up in KSA from the eyes of Western expatriate, a widow of a Muslim man.

The writer using ghost name 'American Bedu' wrote in her online journal http://www.AmericanBedu.com under the title 'Saudi Arabia: Will the Real Muslim Please Stand Up' at the following link http://www.americanbedu.com/2010/06/23/saudi-arabia-will-the-real-muslim-please-stand-up/ about her general view, which I also witness it, but the question, who is the real Muslim?

I personally don't cover my head only during praying, narrate my holy book of Quraan, during fasting and sometimes in some places I go, but I do believe in God (Allah), the pillars of Islam and Imaan or Emaan (faith), despite all that people tag me as not proper Muslim despite not committing sins and I do have high profile of ethics.

Yesterday, I was told about a woman whom I known from a distance for few years, she has nice personality and wears headgear and comes from a good family and strong tribal background, her downfall that she never prays, doesn't believe in God nor punishments of the grave, etc and too obsessed with money.

God has punished this woman on earth, to be unhappy, no kids, not growing in her career after long years of service and physically not healthy; God wants her to remember him for even once, and through other people but yet she still doesn't get it or actually doesn't want to.

We are now alive and one day the Angle of death will rip our souls, without notice or saying goodbye for our loved ones.

Goodbye my soul, I'll vale you with God's words from his Holy book of Quraan.

P.S: By reading Surat Yaseen يس after Fajr prayer, the first prayer of the day beginning of the dawn to sunset, it makes your day good and happy day.

Temporarily open to public

My Twitter, the hyper social network of the year is temporarily open to the public for few days to enable people to follow me, without my approval.

The decision was taken after people temporarily stop following me via Twitter because my account was hijacked by third party application, which I talked about it in my previous posts, thanks to my irrational decision for allowing it to happen.

Twitter website made a decision after several accounts been hijacked (unaware of any statistics) by resetting the infected accounts.

I have reset my account couple of times before receiving the official notification, I had doubt it was an official email from Twitter so I manually reset it my self again.

I thank Twitter for its efforts to pin, advice and resolve.

And I want to recommend site approved via search for mobile surfers be safe from spams and scams.

Oman and Cyclones

Oman has been a target of nature and environmental crises known as cyclones since 2007, Guno and Phet within three years, and coincidence both were on first week of the month of June.

I witnessed Guno but not Phet, because of traveling outside the country in less then 24 hours before the cyclone hit Oman.

Everyone told me it wasn't bad as Guno and I was lucky for not witnessed it. I recall those who weren't in Oman during Guno and they were talking about the incident as if they were there and they actually didn't see the real effects as soon as the cyclone hit the place. No one can talk about it or express or feel it unless they were there.

I missed Phet's action and thriller, but I am glade that my family, relatives and friends are fine, safe and sound.

Rumors that another storm will hit Oman after one week, God knows if it is true or a panic attack, I don't blame people for been alert, as the memories of Guno never escaped their minds.

Now, the FIFA World Cup 2010 will kickoff tomorrow 11th June 2010 in South Africa, will Omani football fans get their minds off with the matches or clean the mess the Phet has left behind?

As salamu alaykum All,

I was reading the following quote and I thought that it was so sweet. I thought of sending it for you so that you may enjoy it as well.

One of our Muslim ancestors said:

"How sweet faith (Eman / Imaan) is when it's beautified with Knowledge.

And how sweet Knowledge is when it's beautified with Implementation.

And how sweet Implementation is when it's beautified with Kindness.

The greatest pair of things is Implementation coupled with Kindness."

BlackBerry fate in Kuwait uncertain

Ever since the BlackBerry technology took the world by storm back in 2002, talk has been going on about its advantages and disadvantages in terms of human social communication and interaction.

With advocates of the device considering it "groundbreaking," other more conventional audiences envisage it as yet another nail in the coffin of tangible human contact. Meanwhile, here in the Middle East region and especially the Arabian Gulf area nowadays, BlackBerry is such a controversial issue, chiefly due to the area's innate traditions and lack of adequate regulation on use of the device, from the point of view of the authorities.

In Kuwait, the Ministry of Interior is eyeing the option of stopping the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service, and a decision to this effect might be issued in the near future, according to a number of local media reports.

These reports said the ministry is considering the ban due to the fact that the service cannot be controlled by the Ministry of Communications or security authorities and hence, users of BlackBerry sets were taking advantage of the situation to spread rumors and call for strikes.

The three telecommunications companies in Kuwait, meanwhile, said they had not received any official request from the Interior Ministry so far relating to the service.

A fresh user of the service, Musaed Al-Mathkour did not think that BBM would be banned, arguing the decision is "too difficult" to implement.

Al-Mathkour told KUNA that in the era of globalization, banning certain services because of public abuse would not solve the problem, as there are, and will be, other alternatives that might have even greater risk for society should they be sought for the wrong reasons.

"It is a double-edged sword; you can use it for good or bad, just like any other device or object. Some BBM users are 'addicted' to it, but with time, all withdrawal symptoms would go away, should the ban take place," he said with a smile.

Au contraire, Wadha Al-Deewli, a veteran user of the service, said she cannot imagine life without "my" BBM, as she told KUNA that the first thing she does after waking up in the morning is to check her Blackberry for any fresh news or even rumors.

Should the ban be imposed, Al-Deewli said that she would be compelled to channel her BBM addiction either back to the regular internet or to other similar technologies.

As of April 9, 2010, the Kingdom of Bahrain imposed a ban on BlackBerry sharing of local news, saying that users needed an official license. The Culture and Information Ministry there said in a statement that the decision was taken to avoid "confusion and chaos." Meanwhile, in the stricter and larger Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has ruled out banning the conflict-ridden messenger service, arguing that there was no reason to do so if only a minority had abused the facility.

In Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has also banned the use of all BlackBerry services "until further notice." In addition, some 450 sites including Twitter and other social networks have been banned by the PTA. This is all on the backdrop of the massive Facebook ban due to the 'Everybody Draw Mohammad Day' that caused serious uproar in the Muslim country.

The BlackBerry is a line of mobile e-mail and smart-phone devices developed by Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM). While including typical smart-phone applications, the BlackBerry is primarily known for its ability to send and receive e-mails wherever it can access a mobile network of certain cellular phone carriers. It commands a 20.8-percent share of worldwide smart-phone sales.

Battles between Oman's telecommunications

Blackberry was first offered by Nawras telecom service provider then Oman Mobile, which is now part of Omantel.

Nawras offered only two packages local (limited) and unlimited (international), while Oman Mobile offered three packages, two local (limited and unlimited) and one unlimited (international).

After Nawras was granted to launch Fixed line service with exclusively WiMAX service a totally new technology, which Omantel doesn't have, Omantel decided to merge back Oman Mobile back and attack Nawras aggressively offers, prices and the latest with BB free data packages plan beside the APN usage plus launching BB for prepaid users.

Allot of BB users in Nawras migrated back to Oman Mobile because of that. They say Nawras is expensive. But is Oman Mobile solve its problems with billing and other technicality? Basically stopped ripping of people, which derived people to migrate to Nawras.

A friend told me words been spreading around (not a valid source) that Nawras is working on getting Apple services in Oman, because the growth of number of users for iPhone and recently iPad is in town.

Nawras was the first to get iPad to the market for test drive, when it just got launched in USA.

Now how is the six MVNO telecommunications doing in Oman? They are FRiENDi, Renna, Mazoon, Halafoni, Apna and Samatel.

Apna and Samatel are not well known like the 1st four MVNO mobile telecoms.

They target expatriates, except for Halafoni, which for young and vibrant group who more connected with Hala FM and Hi FM.

A true Muslim

... the only significant lunch at teta is when all of us in the family found her on the floor choking, and then, I thought I was witnessing her take her last dying breaths, I saw her face turn red, helpless on the floor, as she slowly raised her hands trying to recite Quraan. That is the day I realized how much I loved my grandmother. I FELT my heart tear apart. That is an incident that changed my view of Teta - I can't explain it in words - but instead of trying to breathe, she was trying to recite Quraan while everyone around her was screaming, and losing their mind in fear that she will no longer be with us.

The above quote has touched my heart of knowing that Color of ColoRama journal/blog wrote about her beloved grandmother been thinking of God (Allah) not saving her life, thinking to meet God with by recite his own holy words from Quraan, to meet her next life with veil of Quraan, and her strong faith in God.

Her grandmother is a true Muslim and mummeenah (a believer in God), didn't fear death but was willing to embracing it, and loves God more then her life.

Very few people are ready to embrace death with open heart.

I'm proud of knowing her grandmother and I'm proud that Color admires her and proud for been her granddaughter, also writing about it.

Inner talk

I was deeply having conversation with my self, about my career, money, etc, with instrumental background, a sudden song busted out of the car's speaker.

While the music and the artist took me by surprise, a person with black umbrella passed in front of my car (and in my mind I was saying "Its hot outside 44 C") , I look at the audio system and I was written Hi - FM, the channel has flicked by it self, God knows how and why, but this isn't my car and I'm not liking it.

I rarely listen to English songs, I prefer old school. I'm back to the instrumental music, very soothing indeed.

I can't browse the net through my BB, but I can use the messenger and receive my emails.

I'm back to write thanks to BB' email service, I post via email, that is why its written BB and my service provider under my recent posts.

I couldn't download my BB's Twitter and Facebook applications, some technicality problems and I'm trying to figure why it happens.

Someone dear to me's father passed away yesterday, I remember the day my dad passed away and how this person was supportive to me, God rest his soul in peace.

That's all for now, I have written allot today, but its actually short for you as a reader.

I am trying to find out, which of my co-worker know my blog.

Best wishes to RO and FB in their career.

Social Network is booming

Twitter, the latest free social networking service has taken a whole new level, I don't know how to explain it, but allot of local organizations in Oman had adopted it because it simple and fast to handle.

The local organizations taken Twitter and its fellow Facebook as a platform to grab more of clients to use it products and services.

A leading local bank in Oman, which has its existence in AGCC and International market directly and strategically has adopted facebook to promote its product.

One way, its not easy to manage such social network tool for business, only if they have a proper strategy, because those tools are not for promotions but also a customer care and the business also must able to handle the queries.

I wish to see more local organization presents on Twitter and facebook, despite facebook has helped to promote Omani women micro-enterprises.

No more Flash

There is feud between Adobe and Apple because the 2nd company don't want to adopt Adobe Flash product into its devices, i.e. iphone.

The reasons Apple stated, that the flash technology is old, and mobile revolution needs faster and lighter tools like HTML5.

Apple has already adopted HTML5 and I agree with Steve Jobs, as I mostly use my mobile for browsing and I suffer with flash based sites.

We must ditch Flash for mobile devices, as we are in new era of technology.

Adobe, wake up.

The other life

Do you believe in incarnation? It is when someone says that he has two different souls, the present and past.

My theory, just an observation and might not be true at all and not scientifically proven, its just a spirit of Jinn, who possess the person's body, may be good or bad. It may took the character of former person who have actually lived in that period of time, as those spirit live longer then humans.

Share your thoughts, I maybe 100% wrong.

Virtual child roots to death of 3 months baby

Some of you may have heard about the Korean couple were arrested becaurse of death of their 3 month baby due to nutrition negligence.

It seems that both of them were internet addict, playing virtual games, as they virtually adopted a baby, they were too busy feeding and raising the virtual child and forgot about their real child.

Poor virtual baby, soon also or by now, she is virtually dead too, as no longer her real-virtual parents feeding her, becaurse they are in jail.

I will write one day about those virtual games effects, as per my experience.

Looking for credit facilities

People are looking for credit facilities, specially two IPO will be leanched soon in Oman or to finance, etc.

Some banks stopped giving loans, maybe becaurse they reached their limit, which has been set by the central bank or no liquidity.

Others look for less intrest/ installments and longer duration. Think and choose wisely, or you are doomed, speacially the credit crash is not over yet.

Where were we?

I am grabbing my thoughts and trying to sqease them out of my head, to share it with you.

A Saudi man confissed of 'Hit and ran' a child, after 21 years. The reason, for the 38 years man serandard, is becaurse nightmares been hunting him and of course, the guilt. Now how the judge will treat him? Will they manage to track down the child's family to pay deyyah or to forgive him?

God know, let see how the Saudi bloggers, will react or write about the incident.

Hidden Closet

People tend to hide stuff from others in there closet, and think no one will figure out that there is something wrong from the outlook.

I am talking about people who pretend not eating infornt of people, put when they are alone, they stuff them selves with all sort of junk and unhealthy food, more then you can imagine.

Those people somehow are on denial or pretend to, and say "I don't eat this","Are you crazy for me to eat that hug." or blaming others for exposing them to food, which pushing their sugar and cholesterol levels are at the border of been high or already crossed it.

Who to blame, the cook or the adult person who don't want to control his food habits.

Its Oscars day

Today no talks about politics, health, life and death, etc, its Oscars, half of the world are glued infornt of the TV, radio, mobile TV, social network, following the event live, as if no tomorrow.

The other side of the world, either people are asleep, on there way to their jobs/schools, etc and some struggling to servive from hunger or faital death from the enamies.

We will forget them soon, but the dresses are/were outstanding, I have to make one with some modification.

I hate sitting at home when its weekend or any public holidays, I feel that I am waisting my time and enargy. I mean by that I don't use recourses in good and healthy way.

The only time I sit at home is when I am ill or I haven't had a break for a long time.

I prefer going out visiting my Aunites, going for a movie or drive down town., see people how they enjoy their time, not locking my self at home misrubly.

This weekend I was 90% of the time at home due to illness, I hated it so I drove at night to buy some Sawhili food for my self.

I have canncelled twice to visit my two new born nephews (of my two beloved cousins), due to health reasons. Few hours ago, I managed to get gifts for them to visit them today.

I miss my nephew, who is away for few days.

someone told me, that she decided to leave her passion of photography, because number of people in the family, have the same passion and she didn't want anyone to say she is just a copy cat.

I feel no one should trash their artistic passion or hobby becaurse others do have the same. I believe you do it as long as it makes you happy, but don't boost arround. Show it off to those who really appriciate your talents.
