Tagged Tagged Tagged

I have been using facebook for over year, I can't even remember when I really started using it. One thing I hate is to be Tagged in a photo.

It seems most of the women in my family including my self removed personal photo even the tagged link, as others may see it and are able to save it in their desktop. The facebook has its advantages and vise verse; allot of people arround the world got affected.

I am not against using it, I like it as it's the simple way to get in touch with the family and friends.

And the award goes to ..

If you ask me, "If you had chance to change your father", "Who will you choose insted?" I'll say, "my father".

I will never want to change or replace him, he was the most loving, kind and fair father I ever had, he was full of life and joy, he was a genarous and gentalman.

He always talked about history and politics. He enjoyed watching animated movies and cartoons, specially Tom & Jery.

I always been proud of been Omani, despite other or some countries condam or look down on Omanis in general as a poor state and that its cetizens take up any job with pride, as long it not against the religion or culture.

I love Oman that it embrassed diffrent cultures & religions, as long No One harms the other.

Quality Warranty Inspection

Good joke been dropped of my inbox, I hope you enjoy it.

A Quality Engineer married an average girl…

After 2 years of tough life with her, finally the Engineer got angry and sent a note to his father-in-law stating that: 'YOUR PRODUCT NOT MEETING MY REQUIRMENTS'.

The smart father-in-law replies, 'WARRANTY EXPIRED. MANUFACTURER NOT RESPONSIBLE'

Half time is over and ...

Zero for both team, some intresting comments from the girls:
"The Ksa team players play are like ghazals."
"The Omani teams are not foucasing."
"I'm depreast."

... and the phone calls are ringing from my aunties checking the pulse of the girls, and we say "Oman One Pulse," and "We All For Oman."

We thank all the AGCC cetizens in Oman. Now the Aleshah prayer started & the game too.

It's getting hot

We are in wenter season but it's hot for Gulf Cup fans, speacialy now in Oman, the host.

While I am typing, the people (girls arround me) enjoying & screaming with joy the way the Omani team playing, the game is heating & the all covered with red, the symbol of Oman.

The predictions are Oman may win the cup 2-0 or 2-1; others or ruomers say the guy who predicted GONU in June 2007, predicted KSA might win. God knows the truth, he is the one who wrote the faith of the two teams.

Enjoy the ganme.

Wedding gift

I thought its good to share it with you.

Monica married Nick this day. At the end of the wedding party, Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook with $1000 deposit amount.

Mother: 'Monica, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can
put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Nick. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.
'

Monica shared this with Nick when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made. This was what they did after certain time:

* 7 Feb: $100, first birthday celebration for Nick after marriage
* 1 Mar: $300, salary raise for Monica
* 20 Mar:$200, vacation trip to Bali
* 15 Apr: $2000, Monica got pregnant
* 1 June: $1000, Nick got promoted
* ..... and so on...

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married the nastiest people in the world.... no more love...Kind of typical nowadays, huh?

One day Monica talked to her Mother: 'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!"

Mother: 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'

Monica thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Nick, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce.

The next day, Nick gave the passbook back to Monica. She found a new deposit of $5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you through out all these years. How much happiness you've brought me.'

They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe. Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired? I did not ask.  I believe the money did not matter any more after they had gone through all the good years in their life.

"When you fall in any way, don't see the place where you fell instead see the place from where you slipped. Life is about correcting mistakes."

Randoms/ Locals

Some rondom thoughts, and news to share it with you.

Racist Comment
I have received several junk mail from several people in different times about Tommy Hilfiger’s racist comments against state that blacks and Asians shouldn't wear his clothes.

It turned out its not true. Most of us don’t check or verify if the news is true or not, we are too emotional.

Walls have ears too
When someone wants to talk to someone privately over the phone, he automatically tends to look for a private space/ room so no one can hear the conversation.

Allot of people don’t realise that the walls are not sound proof and it may not be as thick as they think, as the sound still goes through it and anyone who is close by at the other side of wall can hear from 10% to 75% of the conversation.

Oman Slammed For Name Distortion
An interesting article,

15 January 2009
Iran's Physical Education Organization sent letters to Foreign Ministry officials protesting distortion of the name of the Persian Gulf by Oman.

Organizers of the ongoing 19th football cup of the Persian Gulf littoral states in Oman used a fake name for the Persian Gulf for the matches that started in the sultanate on Jan. 7, IRNA reported.

Sending separate letters to the ministry's Persian Gulf director as well as its Press and Information office, they called for following up the case by "immediate diplomatic measures."

It was stressed in the letters that the "Persian Gulf would remain Persian Gulf forever as attested by history". In mid December, a British archaeologist said that the name "Persian Gulf" has historic roots and any attempt at changing it is irrelevant.

"All historical texts have cited 'Persian Gulf' by the same name and world's reputed academic circles recognize it by the same title," Lloyd Weeks said during Iran's 10th International Archaeology Conference.

Weeks said that he has never heard "Persian Gulf" to be mentioned by any other name during his scientific career.

The latest distortion comes as the United Nations secretariat on many occasions has requested its staff to use only the full name of 'Persian Gulf' as the standard geographical designation. The world body also issued two editorial directives in 1994 and 1999, mentioning that only the term 'Persian Gulf' should be used in UN documents.

Slavery

How world you feel if you see someone close to you treat their domestic workers as slaves? How will you react?

The domestic worker work long hours, nearly 16 to 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no weekend off; low pay; bully them; wake them up at anytime; and above all less sleep as minimum as 4 hours.

That’s the civilised slavery, as long as you pay them, they need the job, you can treat them as you wish, it‘s work every biza/ penny you spent on (the visa, medical, ticket, mobile phone and sim card (as per new regulation), and 24 months of low salary).

They forgot what Islam and other religions thought us: "treat people the way you want to be treated", and they them self, use Islam to cover up their sins.

Where are the human rights?

And the winner is..

Bahrain Vs Iraq by 3-1.

Hi5 Iraq is trying his best

Bahrain just scored its 2nd goal by Said Adnan (care anyone update me about him), and Iraq scored 1 by Younes Mohammed after the 2nd halftime. Beside the Iraqi goalkeeper received a penalty ‘Red Card’.

Oh my gosh, I just found out that the English website of The Gulf 19 scores are not updated live comparing to the Arabic website. They need to be notified.

Now everyone’s attention will be driven away from Gaza for a while. Perfect timing, the Israelis done their calculations, Arabs will be busy with the Gulf Cup and Americans with Obama. Gaza will cry like a baby.

Khaliji 19 fever

As the 19th Gulf Cup series (Khaliji 19) have started, and the fever has hit the AGCC population, specially Oman, as it’s the host.

As for this national event, I've subscribed to Koorah+, to get updated despite I am not a fan of football. Oman got even with Kuwait with no score as 0-0, while Bahrain lead Iraq by 1-0 at halftime, which was scored by Abdullah Ismael (God knows who he is) in the 28th minute, and the match is continuing.

Fever
About 'fever', I have been suffering from fever since 29th of December 2008. What a bad ending and starting a year with a sickness, couldn't attend a friend's wedding, and my cousin had his first newborn son.

My 2nd post

My first post for the new year 2009 was 'Happy new year', and this is my 2nd post, I had a good day on 1/1/2009, spent the time with my cousins from lunch to dinner.

We were arranging for my cousin's re-wedding plans and remembering our old childhood and teenage memories. I didn't realise the strong bond we most had, its a special bond.
