Man of knowledge

I came across an article criticizing Barack Obama for giving wrong facts to the Muslims about the first Iftar host in the White House; also the truth behind the 3rd President of USA Thomas Jefferson with Islam and Muslims.

"The first Muslim ambassador to the United States, from Tunisia, was hosted by President Jefferson, who arranged a sunset dinner for his guest because it was Ramadan —- making it the first known iftar at the White House, more than 200 years ago." - Remarks by the 44th President of USA at Iftar Dinner on August 13, 2010.

Based on the article, Thomas Jefferson is not the first one to host the Iftar in the White House, it was the 42nd President of USA, William J. Clinton aka Bill Clinton, who continued the ritual, others followed and the rest is history. Maybe Obama's team thought that no one will verify it, but thanks to the globalization and World Wide Web, people did the background check the story and found some flows. Also that Jefferson was against Islam and Muslims, which I won't go through this in detail, as I also need to research more about it.

At that moment, I wished my late father was here, to discuss with him about it, he was a man of knowledge in politics and history, a man who was such a humble and honest and above all, a gentleman.

My sister and my self realized we do follow our father's footstep in reading and doing researches to gaining general knowledge in different fields. We both like history, national geography and traveling, we also like to learn about other religions, cultures and societies. We both love sharing with others what we learned.

All that, made my late farther a unique man and so are his daughters and we are proud of it.
