Eid flavors

This Eid was differently different then other Eid I came a cross after years. It started at the first day of Eid when I saw my second cousin after more than 15 years, she lived abroad all her life.

My half cast (Oman mom and Greek father) relatives came for lunch, for the first time I set and chit chatted with them to overcome the fear of socializing with people, which recently I experienced in one of the conferences abroad. Back to the topic, I found how they strugglingin both Arab and Greek society because they don't speak the language. They don't want their kids to struggle or face the same problem.

Also we spoke how the young people who have East African background refuse to speak Swahili despite knowing the language because as they heard it's a racist issue, despite as my knowledge most people who have East African background are from well known Arab tribals.

At night my siblings and cousins gathered at my cousin's place after years of not gong out and had junk food and my niece was entertaining us.

The second day of Eid we gathered at my youngest Aunt's place, but this time was only the cousins and their kids, without the parents (now they are grandparents) which proved that my cousins will continue keep the tradition of this gatherings from now on. We then gathered at my sister in law's family farm for BBQ which they traditionally do it every second day of Eid, I started to know my newest sister in law who joined our family in September, and one of my cousin has also stationary obsession like my sister and I, which others thought it's unusual and not acceptable, also told her not to admit it in public.

The third day of Eid I went to the beach for few hours with the boys, finished reading a novel, then in the evening I dropped a guest at her relative, and finished my chores then picked up the guest before heading home.

The fourth day, went for tea party at my sister in law, all my cousins and sister in laws as well as my second cousin who come from Switzerland to meet everyone, we had a great time bonding.

The greatest Test

God (Allah) [has been | is] testing and going to test us our faith in him in different levels, as he wants to see how will we react and remember his esistence, his unlimited power, etc.

We all decended of Adam & Hawah (Eve), but he categorised us by nationality, religion, cast, color, political status, tribe, etc, you name it what ever pops in your mind. God had reminded us that we are all equal in front of him, as he is our creator, but by him categorising us he wanted to test us if we still remember who is God? Will we follow him or not?

He sent allot of prophets and messengers with different status and merical powers to pass his message, some were continueing other's work. Prophet Mohammed ASWA was his last messenger to spread God's words and wizdoms to the world.

Our parents first choose our faith, when we grow up, and become wo(man), it becomes our responsibilty to continue on the same faith or we change it.

What I wanted to say that God testing us how will we treat others, he defined the map for us, he
told us via his holy book how to handle others depending on the categories.

That's the true and hardest test from him.

Now it sinked in

The day of Eid, I felt my heart has just crashed, it just sinked in, my father has died, I won't go to see him today nor tomorrow or for the rest of my life; I won't wish be able to wish him, to see his face full of suprise and happiness expression of seen me and my sibling came to greet him in the morning.

I walked to my baby sister and told her how I felt, couple of days ago we were arguing about reducing number of houses we have to visit, on that day I disagreed with her, but in Eid morning, I told her I'm fine with it, I managed to reduce over half of the houses, we both couldn't manage to walk-in allot of people, our heart couldn't take it anymore, we were mourning in our on way all this time, trying to be braive.

When we went to have Eid breakfast for the first time in my life since moved in Oman, I greeted my uncle then I ran back to my room, I cried for the first snice my dad's death.

I am just praying for him when ever I remember him. I miss him allot.

I feel my life has changed allot, my principles and concept of life, family, etc. I realised I am not social enough that I don't visit most of my relatives and don't know most of them. I don't want to be unknown or forgoten, I don't want to be a stranger within my people.

Socially interconneted

Today I went to pay my condolences to my co-worker for the death of her brother who passed away yesterday afternoon in a car accident. Her surname is the same as my grandmother's surname but she comes from another community. When I arrived there, I've seen several women who are my blood relative & some by inter-marriege, some how my other team members knew them.

My point is never say that someone you think you don't know you or your family & its ok to behave as you like in front of them & nothing will reach to your family then you are wong, that person or someone he knows can be linked to someone in your family, as we are at any point we are socially inter-connected.

Wearing white shoes identifys your social status

This is the comment I've heard from someone who was watching a reality show about Australian Princess that the upper class don't wear white shoes, is it true?

If the upper statement is true, it may be because white shoes get easily dirty, best wishes who ever wearing white shoes, I don't mind wearing for special occ.

Facebook

Facebook is the latest social website that links everyone from various backgrounds locally & globaly together. I managed to get in touch with family & friends I lost contacts with them, I can manage to control who can view my profile and other contents.

I give it five stars comparing to hi5 which I give it one star when it comes to privacy.
