Farewell

Dear Readers,

I have decided to end my journey of writing in my blog. It started in year 2003, when I moved back to my country after years of been away.

This I shared allot of things, and yesterday I initially decided to temporarily end expressing my feeling, but now I feel i should permanently end it. My posts are generally negative more then positive, and I feel that is not me. I have allot of topics and thoughts to write, but when I start typing, my post is short and I get lost in the middle of the article.

I do have dreams, I need to reassess them. I am on Twitter, my user ID is @Shulab. It's temporarily open for everyone who wants to follow me.

All my previous posts will be deleted in future, after I move them to another private blog.

I will miss this place, but I believe it's the best decision I ever made in year 2011, During last 10 days of Ramadhan.

and finally Eid greetings to everyone.

After Years

Time passed by, waiting for some people to come along to bring happiness and joy to our lives, but they avoided to do so.

Other people came along, brought us happiness and made us feel like it part of them, without an invitation. We still were waiting for the same people to come along, but there is no hope for them to do so sail their ship to the shore.

We decided to accept it, it's not as easy at it seems, but we have a choice to be happy, with loved ones.

Looking forward

While I was going through one of virtual albums, which contains photographs of my nieces and nephews (extended family) I realized that by the time my siblings and I get married and have kids (if God bless us) the current group of nieces and nephews age will be older, not fit to play with, and some will tempt to bully others (facts of life) to show they are elder.

This how my younger group of cousins felt all this years and now they feel accepted when we started treating them as adults, despite some are in their late teens and we the older in age (young in spirit) are between mid 20's and approaching mid 30's (I just realized that, ouch).

Looking forward, the age difference won't matter when they are adult, it's the way they approach life and treat each other with respect.

I am a fortune victim

One day, I went to draw money out of my account via ATM machine, I discovered a big difference in my balance (between last two days I checked and current balances). I quickly printed the transaction slip and noticed several transaction made out of POS from a gas/patrol station. I called the bank's call center and managed to block my debit card.

It turned out that the thief swapped my supplementary debit card, which I wasn't aware that I misplaced or lost it until the day I found out, for a while I stopped using POS or electronic payments for months now.

I admit that I felt the pinch, but it was a big lesson to learn from, and this could happen to anyone.

I consider my self as a fortune victim, because if it didn't happen, I wouldn't have understood people's feeling when it happen to them. The amount was nothing for what other had lost.

Because of different mental attitude

My friend Zuwaina Al-Harthy has shared this with her fellow relatives and friends on Facebook, and I'm blessed to be one of them.

It isn't what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.

example .. two people may be in the same place, doing the same thing, both may have about an equal amount of money and prestige and yet one may be miserable and other happy.

why? Because of different mental attitude.

Her life is not blank

A blind woman, who lost her sight at a young age proved to me today that her disability didn't stop her from living her life and dreams.

She worked hard, went to best school, did her PHD and pursued her dreams, she had a vision, but not like our vision, to be help others like her to become something in this society.

Been blind didn't stop her from socializing, she also has a Facebook account, she posted her photos, as well as her family member and friends, she's proving to us that she has a life worth living for, it's not blank as the canvas, it's colorful with all kind of shades, and has a meaning.

She still dreaming of gaining her sight, but maybe been blind is a blessing and motivation to become a leader, for us to follow our dreams and take risks, as long it doesn't harm us nor our loved ones.

Yes, her life is not a blank canvas, and so am I.

Royalty weddings

People in UK waiting to wetness the biggest event of the year, The Royal Wedding of HRH Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Thanks to the globalization and the revolution of technology, i.e. the internet, this event will be live and people who subscribed to facebook and other social networks plus online TV will able to view the real time. People will also post in blogs and tweets simultaneously, sharing comments, about the event, dress, makeup, etc, like fashion police.

I noticed in my country or in Arab world, the Royal wedding is not such a big deal to publish it on news. It's more of a private, and normal for a member of royal family get married to none royal family member.

I realized, most of Western countries don't have social commitments, etc, so such events keeps them occupied.

A quick note, I realized the Arabian Gulf countries' royal families inter-marry, example Bahrain and Dubai; except Omani royal family don't inter marry with other country royal families.

I just received the above quote from TRA Oman Telecommunications Regulatory (TRA) via SMS. What's going on?

No trust

Since the protests been swamping in my own country, for the past month, it showed the true color of allot of people. It started making uncomfortable with some who I thought I can trust, as they are snooping around for negative vibes and then spreading their poisons to motivate people to protest.

Some of my close friends fell in that trap from trying to help into a category of motivating protesters and they aren't at all.

I don't trust no one, specially those who showed me their two sides. I started hating the word 'protest' as it killed allot of people's genuine feelings and replaced it with anger and greed. People forgot about their Religion's etiquette of dealing with emotions and situation, and they behave like they are animals in a jungle. They all don't believe in Allah (God), as their true believe in him is weak.

Why me!!!

My friend Aida Al-Rahbi shared this note, a form of motivation, I also shared it with couple of close friends at the time they were emotionally down, and it helped them to raise their spirit, and now is time to raise yours.

Why me!!! now i know.. because i am tough enough to handle anything.
I am a bullet proof and no one can change that.
I am honest and people don't like it.
I am straight and others afraid of it.
I am a mountain you cannot move, I am an ocean you cannot dry.
If anybody thinks of messing around with me, I will still continue living my life happily, while you live your life miserably.

The effects of salaries hike

All locals in government and private sectors protesting, and one of their demands is in increase in salaries, they don't realize the effect or chain reaction?

Let me explain, increase in salary, means surplus in accounts, mean extra money to save and/or spend. For business people, it's a chance to increase the prices of the commodities, etc. So the price hike the prices, people will spend more to meet their demands, it's a win-loose for the benefit of businesses.

That's the cycle of life.

Mark Zuckerberg's dog has a Facebook Page

Today, I came across an infographic about facebook and dogs, I didn't understand why such data analysis been shared until I came across this catchy. Headline 'Mark Zuckerberg Gets A Dog, Gives It a Facebook Page' By Kashmir Hill at Forbes blog and news.

Mark Zuckerberg's new puppy aka as 'Beast' has an been honored by getting a Facebook Page, it is a way to motivate Facebookers to be more comfortable to share about their pets and other interests as well as hobbies, even if it is unusual or weird, as long it doesn't disrespect or conflicts with any religion, society, ethnics, persons, etc.

It's all about popularity and fame for Facebook, its founders, the team, and last not the least Facebookers (the majority users).

Justice in Oman

His Majesty has brought justice in Oman again by listening to his people's demands.

He sent the right people who are honest, have high integrity and people's persons. Sayyid Khalid bin Hamad Al-Busaidi is loved by people, he works for them and cares too, because he is one of them.

Omani people comprised of different ethnic background, but at the end of the day they are one soul, an Omani soul. No one is against his majesty, his people are loyal to him, but some took advantage of his trust and generosity for their own benefit and not his people. He was blindfolded, but his wisdom and judgment overpowered those who tried to destroy his image, that he doesn't care about his people.

God wanted to protect his Majesty, so he gave him a big test to open his eyes, mind and soul, the tragic events in Sohar was the motivation for him to do the changes.

I sat with several people, whom felt such a shame for what happened in Sohar, they felt betrayed by their own people, they consider and look up upon his Majesty as more of a father to them, they were raised to think and believe that way, they also get upset for those who talk about him negatively.

We are proud to be Omanis, our patriotism towards our country is high, and now it's time for us to drive Oman ahead for brighter future.

This is one of my shortest post, I spontaneous moment of writing, it just accrued to me in my opinion one of the biggest sins, is when the audio of holy quraan is on and you take the earphone and put it on and listening to music.

What's with Masala!

I picked up the Volume 9, issue 377 of Masala!, the weekly magazine, which covers Bollywood News, star gossip, etc and was shocked that it was filled with advertisements, events in UAE, etc and very few news related to Bollywood industries.

It seems that Masala! are in financial crises or facing writers' strike; is Bollywood in sleeping mode? Are all celebrities in caving mode?

No spicy story so Masala! gone mild, I hope the next issue won't be the same or worst.

It's a sad day for Oman

People are forgetting God, by destroying public and government properties, burning up houses, etc, for what? People end up getting dead, and who they blame? They say in angry tone, "The government of course", "if they didn't provide jobs, etc, all that wouldn't happen".

I don't blame none of sides. I am with both sides as long I don't cross the line. But the people if they didn't react, none would have happen, those two people would have died in natural death, God knows how their real death, if it cause of heat attack or high blood pressure.

Is the anti-government demonstrators been pumped up by a neighboring state, as a revenge for publicly accuse for spying?

Egyptian is blood

I am not an Egyptian, but born in Egypt and feel deeply like Egyptian. I can't explain it, but for my mom side of the family been living there for generations for education purpose, and some lived all their lives.

When any of my member of my family meet an Egyptian, they automatically feel comfortably talking in Egyptian accent, even if we the younger generation who never lived in Egypt, its in our blood. The male member who mostly try to hide it, they can't resist the most.

I don't like people criticizing Egyptians, my mom and grandmother lived among them, eat and studied with them.

A funny part during the 18 days protest in Egypt, my elder Uncle and Auntie were glued in front of the TV and internet, following up the events, news and interviews, as well as the Egyptian priotraic songs of Abdulhaleem Hafedh and others, remembering their days during Jamal Abdulnassir, as if they were re-living the events.

He aimed high

One of my ex coworker had a dream, he sat and started planned his dreams to actions. A soon as he completed his undergraduate program from the only university in Oman, he landed on his first job, he bought a Jaguar, a British luxury car, and after a while bought a branded mug worth around $52. Everyone asked him why? He said, "It's a prestige."

After few years, he launched his first accounting software, he developed, as he had interest in learning software developments, etc. He started promoting it then moved to another job, with higher salary. After less then a year, he quit his job and set up a business, which focuses on developing accounting software.

He is happy and stable, also achieved his goals. He aimed high and he reached higher.

Egypt is free

Egyptian souls are bleeding for their freedom. Mohammed Husni Mubarak is replica of the Firaun / Pharaoh during the Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) era, who drowned while crossing the river after the prophet and Israelis has passed.

Now he stepped down, he has to leave the country or already left. He has the money and I don't know if his sons and their families will be able to go back to Egypt.

The Egyptians are happy now, but will their happiness last? Who will be the next president? Who will lead them without corruption? Will he be USA and Israel allay? Think about it.

First time nation's speech

It's my first time in my life, I am glued in front of the TV waiting for an official speech, and it's from the Egyptian president Mohammed Husni Mubarak. I never listened or witnessed my country leader's speech, what a shame.

I am maybe witnessing a new era and chapter of Egyptian's history. At this moment I miss my late father, imagine him commenting and talking about Jamal Abdulnassir and Anwar Sadaat's era.

Think before shooting

Words just shoots out of some people's mouth without thinking nor considering the people who surrounding them, even kids.

You see the shocking expression on the audience, the a laughter to avoid commenting or pick up a fight.

The year has started, Tunisia's president fled after over thrown by the people. Egyptian going through the same phase, the people are trying to over throw Hussein Mubarak and he is stalling by terrorizing his people.

Before end of January, Omani's government announced uncovering a local spy cell working for UAE government. UAE government's denial statement included "surprised", "shocked", "good relationship", "we will fully co-operate", etc.

Are the Arab countries getting messed up? Where did the governments go wrong? Will it effect the AGCC too?

Best quote

I loved this quote, which I came across, and I love to share it with you'll.

"The Best Kind Of Love Is The Kind
That Awakens The Soul
Make Us Reach for More
Plants A Fire In Our Hearts
And Bring Peace To Our Minds"
