On 9th Sept 2008

This day, was the sadest day in my life, the death of my father that shocked the whole family. I don't know what to say or to do, I'm  just trying to move on and accept my new role in life. One day I'll be with him.

His death was on a holy month of Ramadhan. God sent Azrael, the angel of death on a good day, vary few people are honored on this month.

Indian jews

Two Jewish men, Sid and Al, were sitting in a Indian restaurant in New York.

Sid asked Al, 'Are there any Jewish people of our faith born and raised in India?'

Al replied, 'I don't know, let's just ask our waiter.'

When the waiter came by, Al asked him, 'Are there any Indian Jews?'

The waiter said, 'I doont by knowing, I ask cooksaheb..' He returned from the kitchen in a few minutes and said, 'No sir, no Indian Jews.'

Al wasn't really satisfied with that and asked, 'Are you absolutely sure?'

The waiter, realizing he was dealing with 'foreigners' gave the expected answer, 'I check again,' and went back into the kitchen.

While the waiter was away in the kitchen, Sid said, 'I find it hard to believe that there are no Jews in India, our people are scattered everywhere.'

The waiter returned and said, 'Cooksaheb say there is no Indian Jews.'

'Are you certain?' Al asked once again, 'I just can't believe there are no Indian Jews!'

'Mudder choot ! Listen, I asked EVERYONE,' replied the frustrated waiter. 'All we have is Orange Jews, Apple Jews & Tomato Jews!'

Gaze not Gaze

I came across an interesting article from Alqabas, an Kuwaiti newspaper about 'Gazing' in Kuwait. The word 'Gaze' in proper English means A fixed look; a look of eagerness, wonder, or admiration; a continued look of attention (from wiktionary.org), but in Kuwait when you say "I want to gaze", or  "let's gaze" it means lets hanging out without any purpose or goal (chill out/ flirting).

The word 'Gaze' been used  as a slang only in Kuwait community by the X generations after the Invasion of Kuwait.

For Arabic readers click here to read the article dated to 28 Aug 2008 for more details.

Noor and Mohannad

The fastest way to increase the number of traffic in your journal/blog, post an article about Noor and Mohannad or Muhannad, “نور ومهند” in Arabic, the name of the two fictional characters of Gumus (Noor) Turkish drama series which broadcasted in MBC 4.
